Trauma

You've experienced something that turned life upside down and now you're trying to rebuild what was lost. The way that you see the world, yourself, and other people have all changed. You feel stuck in the past but want desperately to move forward in freedom and safety. Trauma can be healed but not in isolation. The presence of a safe relationship while re-processing the past is essential to mending those tears in our psyche.

Mood alterations

You might be feeling fear, horror, guilt, and/or shame after what you went through. The positive emotions in life such as joy and excitement might feel dull and muted. Irritability and anger seem to take over without warning.

Avoidance

Feelings of detachment from others and yourself are normal after a trauma. You might be avoiding people, places, and things that remind you of your experience.
